Sponge Bob Square Pants Punch Art Card

My daughter is off to a Sponge Bob Square Pants birthday party tomorrow so I was forced to sit and make an appropriate card.  I remember making something similar as a bookmark many years ago.  He is punched with the Creative Memories bubble punch and raised up on dimensionals.

I have used scrap paper to piece him together but the main colours are Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Real Red, & Early Espresso.  The sentiment is from Bring On The Cake.

Pinwheel Cards

I have been trying to make my pinwheels smaller to fit a standard card.  They are really easy to make once you get the hang of them.  The pinwheel square measures 6cm x 6cm.   A small white brad holds them in place and allows them to spin.
-(1) Rose Red DSP for the pinwheels and Rose Red, Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight.  (2) Night of Navy, Rose Red.

Stamp Set: Pendant Park(120012)

Burnt Ribbon Flower

I learn't how to make this gorgeous ribbon flower just the other day and could not wait to give it a try.  SC341 is a great sketch so I combined the two.

Here is the sketch

Nice and simple sketch to get me going today.  I used Pretty in Pink 5/8" Satin Ribbon and stuck it in a circle around a large circle I punched out.  Then I used the heat gun to melt the edges and mounted it with a lovely antique brad.  Pretty in Pink Subtle DSP and card stock were used along with Very Vanilla and Pear Pizazz.    I used the wing of the 2 Step bird Punch for the leaves as well.   The coordinating card stock was run through the Vintage Wallpaper and  Framed Tulip embossing folders for an extra special touch.

This flower could easily be made into a hat pin or brooch as it finishes quite solid.  For my purposes today it was just perfect.  I didn't use a sentiment as I will wait till I have a use for it, but it could easily be used as a Mother's Day or Wedding card.

Paper: Pretty In Pink (106568), Very Vanilla (106550) Pear Pizazz (121693), Subtles DSP (117152)
Ink: None.
Cool Tools:  Big Shot Machine, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder (121809), Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (120175), 2 Step Bird Punch (117191), 2 1/2" Circle Punch (120906)
The Perfect Touch: Antique Brad (117273)

Squared Framed Tulip & Blossom Bouquet

Those of you who know me, know I have always loved bright colours, but have recently moved to the more subtle vintage colours.  Well I have to say - Look out she is back!  I am loving the brights at the moment!
I have to admit I didn't really liked the triple layer Blossom Bouquet Punch when I first saw it & couldn't understand what all the fuss was about.  Recently, I had the opportunity to get one of these punches from a friend in the USA and I have to say I am hooked.  I really love the versatility of it and the way it makes the flowers POP off the page.  I love the Framed Tulip embossing folder squared too.  It is so easy to do and really looks good don't you think?  I was playing around with the Blossom Bouquet punch and thought this would be a great opportunity to show off the squared tulip style.    Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight with a touch of Pear Pizazz are so vibrant and really give this trio of cards that burst of colour I have missed so much.

Here is a close up for a better look

These cards are all 11" x 11".  For the the squared tulip to work well it needs to be 10 1/2" x 10 1/2".  The square mat is 7 1/2 " x 7 1/2" and the inner white square is 7" x 7".

Subtle Pinwheels

Pinwheels seem to be the next big thing - they remind me of the show and rides and the smells of fairy floss and donuts.  Isn't it amazing how such a little thing can bring back such vivid memories from childhood.

I made these from Subtles designer series paper and think they are kind of cute & yes they do spin!
