A Little Yuletide Village CTC#500

Hello & welcome to my blog. If you are coming to me via the CASEing the Catty blog hop, hello & thanks for stopping by!

I have been lucky enough to be asked back for this wonderful milestone with the CASEing the Catty team! Congrats to the team on such an amazing achievement your 500th challenge!  Whilst I haven't been posting on my blog very much, I've still been creating and following the blog hop each week.  The team have been a source of inspiration many a time so thanks guys for the awesome work you do!

I was asked back to CASE my favourite project from any of the current Stampin Up! catalogues.  When I was asked to join the blog hop I was overwhelmed with all my options! Sometimes life gets so busy it can be weeks between projects.  When this happens, I turn to the catalogues & CASE away.  After a few projects I am usually inspired to create more & more, which usually ends with several projects!

One of my favourite CASED items that I made when this catalogue first came out was a little frame using Yuletide Village stamp set on page 56 of the September December Mini Catalogue.

It's such a pretty little frame & evokes the idea of little snowy village at Christmas time.  Living in Australia, I have never experienced such a thing.  My Christmas is spent in the air conditioning on a hot summer's day so the thought of such a cute little snowy scene seems so charming.

This is more like what my Christmas looks like! Yes, I am lucky to be living by the beach, but oh what I would give to see what a real white Christmas looks like! Since I don't have the ability to hop on a plane & be surrounded by such a place, I just had to create this frame for myself to make up for it!

The frame is made from Crumb Cake card stock & was adapted from a frame Simone Bartrum (another CASEing the Catty alumni) created using the Country Birdhouse bundle for a craft show in August this year.  I stamped the tiny woodgrain stamp from the Country Birdhouse stamp set in Crumb cake ink all over the frame to create a wooden look.  Then I stamped & cut out lots of the little houses & trees from the Yuletide Village stamp set until I had my own little wintery scene. Once I had a village I was happy with I coloured in each house with Stampin' Blends markers.  The background was created using the Falling Snow background stamp on Pool Party card stock.

As a bonus... the Yuletide Village stamp set is marked down in the Last Chance products list. It's now just $30.60!

Once again, Congratulations to the CASEing the Catty team on such an amazing milestone. I have thoroughly enjoyed joining the celebrations and re-living the good old days of being a member of the blog hop team.

Next on the hop is Rebecca at The Paper & Stamp Addict.

It's time for the NEW 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue!

Today is the day! The new Stampin' Up! 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue is now LIVE!

Straight away you can tell from the cover that this catalogue is different to the usual offering from Stampin' Up! That's not necessarily a bad thing, but as we all know change can be hard initially. The catalogue is built to help you find what you need, no matter your skill level. Products are grouped together to make your shopping experience better like techniques, bundles & suites. Look out for some ideas along the way like the card layout ideas page.

If you like to use QR codes, you’ll find these scattered throughout the catalogue to ‘scan’ for more information as you go along.

As it's an entirely new design it may take time to get used to.  Rest assured I will be here to help if you need help finding what you need or have any questions, just reach out in your usual way. **My hot tip is to photocopy or print out the index pages from the catalogue & use that to help you find things.

Customers that have ordered in the last 6 months will receive a complimentary copy in the mail from me, so keep an eye out for it. Reach out to me if you haven't received yours yet & would like a copy.
