Stampin' Up! Open Sea

Well I'm back from a refreshing holiday to Bright, Victoria.  It was lovely weather but all the surrounding towns were flooded as part of this crazy weather we have been having.  The house we stayed in was great and we had no flooding so all was good in the end.   I took along a small bag full of goodies to make some nautical cards whilst I was away.  What a great stamp set this Open Sea is.  Great for masculine cards which seem to be rather scarce here.  I used some of the Nautical Expedition DSP on some of them but knowing this won't be available soon I tried to create some cards without it.

Open Seas & Nautical Expedition DSP - Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler & Crumb Cake
Open Seas & Nautical Expedition DSP - Cherry Cobbler & Early Espresso

These two cards use the Nautical Expedition DSP which coordinate perfectly.  I could only use limited colours and ribbons - one can only carry so much when travelling ;)    I chose Cherry Cobbler and Not Quite Navy for the 1st card but also added a touch of crumb cake.  The 2nd card I used the DSP, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper white and Early Espresso.  I had planned on adding a sentiment to this card but hadn't packed any suitable ones.

Open Seas and Wonderfully Worn

Both these cards use the Wonderfully Worn background stamp in Early Espresso instead of using DSP.  Similar in design with just a change of colours and card stock.  I prefer the 1st one as I was able to add a sentiment  from Afterthoughts (retired).  I was also able to hang the anchor from the twine here too.  I had planned on embossing the anchor but forgot to pack my embossing powder(silly me).

Now I just have to find a few good men to give these to.

Thanks For Looking,
TRICIA
