Stampin' Up! No Stamping Trimming The Town Cards

I recently came across a couple of cute cards by Bree from Craft-somnia Momma & was drawn to the layout & colours she used in her cards.  These cards are lovely & bright & really showcase that stamp set with what I feel is a modern twist.

When the Trimming the Town DSP came out I could instantly see its use in this card layout, so I set to work CASE-ing these designs. I discovered that the Coming Home Bundle is a really great set to use for these cards.  I stamped the little house stamp in Misty Moonlight ink onto Misty Moonlight card stock for that colour on colour look.  For the left card I pulled out my Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set

Now lots of people are in lockdown at the moment due to Covid, & we cant run our usual craft classes. With this in mind I wanted to create these cards using no stamping.  As you can see this layout really works.  The OCD in me had trouble with that left sided mounting of the DSP, but I ran with it & it looks great. The Real Red dots are a happy modern addition to the Trimming The Town DSP. Instead of stamping on the whisper white piece, I embossed it using the Winter Snow embossing folder to add a bit of texture.  I also added some Misty Moonlight pieces of 2020-2021 Incolour DSP to both cards & a bow in Dapper Denim (retired) twine

So there you have it 1 design adapted 2 different ways.  After I finished these cards I came up with a few other ideas to use this set with no stamping, which I will share with you all at a later date.  This Trimming the Town DSP is available in the Stampin' Up! DSP sale during all of October so if you want to get this or any other of the DSP's on offer they are 15% off all month!  My shop is linked in the sidebar or you can head there via this link

Happy Crafting
