12 Weeks Of Christmas: Week 5 Wonderland Glitter technique

Welcome back to Week 5 of my 12 weeks of Christmas series.  Oooh, it is getting close now can you believe how fast this year is going?!

For stamp club recently I was asked to teach the glitter technique.  It is a class I run every year as it has such a pretty effect.  Mind you I always run out of glitter!

Here is my card.  I used Wonderland & generation stamped in Mossy Meadow.

Here is a close up of the glittered panel.  It is very sparkly & pretty in real life, it's a bit hard to see in this photo.

To do this technique:
1) Stamp your images & leave to dry
2) Cover the whole image in versermark
3) Sprinkle heat & stick powder all over & heat with heat gun until powder is melted & sticky.
4) Sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds glitter all over & heat again.  Ensure the image is heated all over so the glitter sets.

This technique looks lovely on ornaments, most Christmas stamps & anything snowy.  Why not give it a try? Trust me, you'll love it!

12 Weeks Of Christmas: Week 10 - Glitter Technique Ornamental Pine

I really like the glitter technique for that added extra oomph, especially on a Christmas card.  I was introduced to this technique a few years ago but every year I am asked to redo it in classes.  Here is a card I made recently using Ornamental Pine stamp set (on sale right now in the Closeout sales)

The actual design of the card is cased off Pinterest with a few switch ups to enable the glitter technique.  I love that with a bit of heat & stick powder & heat gun & some glitter, you can create quite a sparkly & impressive card in minutes.

12 Weeks Of Christmas: Week 8 - Four Fold Get Your Santa On

I think I am back on track now with my 12 weeks of Christmas posts.  Here we are at Week 8.  I am beginning to sound like an old lady when I say "wow, hasn't that year flown by" but you know it really has.  This last 18 months has been a real hard time for my kids & I but we are coming out the other side & the sun is shining. We are in a happy place & I am slowly getting my craft mojo back.

Ok enough of the personal stuff.  Wanna see my cute four fold card?

Four Fold Card - Get Your Santa On

This is one of the cards my stamp club ladies will be making this week.  It is kind of a spinner card I guess you would say.  We are doing the inlaid glitter technique by using heat & stick powder & dazzling diamonds & heat setting it.  Bit hard to see on the santa but he is all glittery & sparkly.

My friend Leonie made a card like this recently & when she came to help out at my Create Your Christmas event she brought it to show me.  Lots of people commented on it, so I really wanted to do something similar.  Please excuse my dodgy photo as I took a quick snap on my kitchen bench before she left so I could figure out how to make it.

Leonie's Festival Of Trees Four Fold Card
I hope to make a few more of these cards as they are fun & a bit different to your normal card you get in the mail.  Best part is they fold flat & fit in a standard envelope.
