Spritzer Butterfly Card

I wanted to feature the Spritzers for Stamp Club recently and found a great idea on frenchiestamps.com that uses the butterfly punch as a mask.  I also wanted to teach emboss resist so I combined the two techniques to create this card.

Birthday Butterfly Spritzer Card
We started with Whisper white and heat embossed the Alhambra wheel with clear embossing powder. This was then sponged with Island Indigo over the top.  The butterflies were punched out & placed on Whisper White card stock randomly.  I mixed up Champagne Shimmer paint & Midnight Muse into a spritzer bottle & spritzed all over.  Once the butterflies are moved you get a lovely masked effect.  We then stamped the sentiment and clear embossed it.

A new stamp club is starting in late April, 2013.  If you would like to join these technique classes then please email me or phone 0411113530 to book your place.  These classes will now be held in my purpose built stamp room in my new house (YAY!) in Torquay, Victoria.

Sale-A-Bration 2013 Countdown: Week 1 - Petite Curly Label Vintage Card

This week I am focussing on the Petite Curly Label punch & the matching stamp set Pretty Petites from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue due to be released January 22nd, 2013.

I have challenged myself to use some stamp sets that are gathering dust on my shelf.  I loved the Morning Post stamp set in the annual catalogue straight away and had to have it.  But it has sat on my shelf for 5 months without ever being used.   :(

Today I wanted to show you how you can combine the Morning Post stamp set with the Pretty Petite set to get a vintage look.  I love the vintage look but don't often go there as my style is more clean & simple, but every now & then it is good to step out of your comfort zone and do something different.   I even dragged out my neglected spritzer too!
