Convention Swaps 1

As promised a few posts ago here are some of my swaps from convention.  Trust me these are all much better in real life but as there were so many I have only photographed a few.  I have grouped them into colours and themes & to make it a bit easier I have not added details of who made what etc...

Neutral Swaps
Calypso Coral

Blues

Kids/Masculine swaps

Framelit swaps

Butterfly swaps

Boxes & Bags

Tracy's Journal and a special front page......
Shelli signed my journal for me making it extra special!

Tracy my upline made this gorgeous journal for her team members.  It came in very handy - especially when I met Shelli.  She commented on how lovely it was and I got her to sign inside the front cover.  Funny thing was I got her to sign Elissa's book and not mine and had to go and ask her to then do mine.

As you can see there is lots of swapping to be had at convention.  There are many more to be seen - these are just a few of the ones I received.  I am sure if you came along you would marvel at the amount and quality of the work that is swapped in just a few hours!    My swaps were all gone in about half an hour and I had wished I had made more.  Next time I might try making a few different ones.

A Little Dino Roar

I know I promised to show some of my swaps from convention but I have been having a few camera issues this past week so can't show them just yet.  So, here is a post I prepared earlier....

My son is going through a BIG dinosaur phase.  I guess little boys of about 3-4 do go through this phase but he is extremely addicted to everything related to dinosaurs, Ice Age and especially volcanos!  This gave me an opportunity to get out the Dino Roar stamp set and do some water colouring - a technique I don't use much.    I used some of the Well Worn DSP with River Rock & Cajun Craze.   I have kept them very simple as I figure they are only for him and he will wreck them soon enough....he doesn't understand gentle!

Stamp Set: Dino Roar.
Paper:  Well Worn DSP, Cajun Craze, River Rock, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stayz On Black, Regals & Neutrals Water Colour Crayons

My Convention Swaps

Going to Convention is all about meeting new people and sharing ideas and our passion for Stampin' UP! My favourite time of any SU! event is of course the Swaps.  We all get together and swap ideas and our creativeness.  My swaps this year were based on the Twitterpated (hello - addicted to this DSP!) and the Attic Boutique DSP.  They are based on Mixed Bunch stamp set and the Blossom Punch and a layout I had seen on Monica's Passions blog.

Left: Attic boutique, Right: Twitterpated

The Basic Grey Twitterpated one was the most popular and I ran out pretty much straight away but I have to say I preferred the Attic Boutique Pool Party one.  Which one do you prefer?

Check back tomorrow for some swaps I received!

Convention Fun

Convention really was the highlight of my year so far.  I didn't really know anyone that well, but managed to have a blast. I met so many lovely ladies and learn so much.  Next year's convention is in Brisbane (Yay finally some warmth) 23rd-25th May, 2013.  I personally can't wait but would love it if I could bring some of you along with me this time!

Another team photo - I think we are all in this one!

Me stalking meeting Ruth Clarke in the Demonstrator Resource Centre

I am so glad to be home and back to real life, but am missing the fun of convention.  Stampin' Up! really do know how to spoil their Demonstrators at convention.  Next event is Regionals in Melbourne on August the 4th and SU are opening up the doors for everyone to come this year.  That means customers are welcome to attend -YAY! So, if you have a hankering for some fun, then let me know & I will organise for you to attend.

Convention Highlights

Hi - I am finally home after a huge few days away at our Annual Stampin' Up! Convention in Canberra.  This was my 1st convention and I must say it was AMAZING!  I loved every second of it and learnt so much.  There are so many exciting things coming our way over the next few months - you are going to love it!    Our annual catalogue is going to align with the US & Canadian catalogues with many of the same products - YAY, so no more drooling over their products that we don't have!  Our annual catalogue will only last 10 months so we can come into alignment with the overseas market release of their catalogue in 2013.  Great news - no more long waits for our release.  The In-Colours are gorgeous and fresh, the new products are versatile and make stamping so much easier.

Things you need to know now:

  • Regional seminar will be in Melbourne on 4th August - save that date as I did hear customers are welcome to attend this year.
  • New catalogue and new seasonal (mini) catalogue will both be released September 1st.  This seasonal catalogue with be the same size as the annual catalogue and have more products than our usual mini.  I have seen some sneak peeks and WOW is all I can say!
  • Joining SU is now easier - You choose what you want in your kit up to the value of $235 and it costs only $169!  Plus you get 20% off all your products with every order you place.  PLUS you get to join me at convention next year as a fellow demonstrator!
  • If you have the amazing score tool you are going to love the Diagonal Score Plate and it is priced at only $20.95 + P&H.  It is available to order 1st of July.  Make your own envelopes and so much more with this amazing tool.
  • August signals the release of the retiring list for our current catalogue.  Stay tuned for what is going and what is staying.  Rest assured that whatever is going will be replaced with even more exciting new products.
I do want to say Thank you to SU! for putting on such an amazing Convnetion this year.  I am so privileged and blessed to be a part of this wonderful company. Shelli is an inspiration to us all and so accessible.  I managed to chat to her a few times over the course of the convention and she was lovely every time.  In fact all the US staff were lovely and took the time to talk to us all on an individual basis.  It really is a family and I must say I was made to feel part of this wonderful family.

Myself and Shelli enjoying a moment together!

Tricia
