Water Colour Wings For Eureka Stampers Blog Hop

It's time to join in the Eureka Stampers New Catalogue blog hop & that means one thing NEW STAMPS!   You might have just hopped over from Tracy's blog or you might be starting here.  Either way, welcome aboard!

This week I received a small shipment of new stamps.  I could only order a few stamp sets, but what to chose?!   Oh the decisions.   I whittled it down to a few of my 1st Ooohs in the catalogue - Watercolour Wings, Wild About Flowers & the hostess set A Whole Lot Of Lovely.  They will do nicely thanks!

I bought the bundle for the Watercolour Wings set & saved myself 15%!  Did you know there are lots & lots of bundles in this catalogue?  Well worth looking before you decide on a set as these will save you money.

I needed a gift card holder recently for a friend's birthday & I wanted an unusual looking one that I had not tried before.  This one is a slide out card holder.  My version here doesn't have an actual holder, but I used the sticky stuff on the back of the card to stick it to the white base card.

These butterflies are fun to create. The colour options are infinite, however I chose a nice neutral soft look of Mint Macaron & Crumb Cake & used the new rejigged version of the In Colour DSP stack.

Mint Macaron Watercolour Wings Slide Out Card

I have only used two inks on this butterfly, Mint Macaron & Crumb Cake.  To get this look I have included a stamping guide.

Well that's it from me today.  Next stop on the hop is …. Janine  I bet she has something amazing to share with us!

12 Weeks Of Christmas Week 8: Envelope Punch Board Gift Card Holders

My new Envelope punch board arrived just as I was preparing my Stamp A Stack.  I seriously love this little gem of a tool.  I have used it for lots of things, not just envelopes & today I made these cute gift card holders with it.  Once again I have used the Season Of Style DSP & following on with the cute theme this week I have chosen the Color Me Christmas Stamp Set.  I knew as soon as I saw this stamp set in the catalogue I had to have it!

These are really easy to make & look great.  I give a lot of gift cards at Christmas so they will come in very handy!  My card holder is an adapted version of one Jackie Topa made (If you click her name it will take you directly to her post with a video on how to make her version).  To make this version you need a piece of card stock 4 1/4" x 11".  Score this at 2" & 7 3/8".  Insert the short end into the envelope punch board & line up with the 1" mark.  Punch then flip over & do the same, that is line it up at the 1" mark & punch again. I put sticky strip up either side of the flap to hold the card in place.  Jackie does a stepped up version which takes a bit longer.

Stamp Set:  Color Me Christmas (131745), Wishing You (131751), More Merry Messages (126402)
Paper:  Whisper White(106549), Cherry Cobbler (121681), Gumball Green (127543), Early Espresso (121686), Season Of Style DSP (132340), Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso & Gumball Green Markers.
Ink:  Early Espresso (126974), Cherry Cobbler (126966)
Cool Tools: NEW Envelope Punch Board (133774),  Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (19959), Large Oval Punch (199855), Scallop Oval Punch (119856), Sticky Strip (104394), Dimensionals(104430).

Stampin' Up! Quick Pop n' Cuts Gift Card Holder

My daughter has a birthday party to attend today & I almost forgot to make a card!  I decided to buy her friend a gift card as that is what they all seem to want these days.  I often make gift card holders, particularly around Christmas.  Here is a quick gift card holder using the Pop n' Cuts Die that is easily adaptable to any occasion.  I love that the Pop n' Cuts Die cuts the little slits in the corners so it fastens itself.

I cut the base card card in Raspberry Ripple in the bigshot using just the base of the Pop n' Cuts die (no inserts) & scored it at 1", 3 1/2" & 8" on my trusty Simply Scored Scoring Tool .  I then added Birthday Basics DSP & Bermuda Bay Ribbon.  Nice & Quick & just in time! I stamped the cupcake from the Sketched Birthday stamp set twice - once on Very Vanilla & once on Bermuda Bay.  The vanilla one was punched out using a 1 1/4 " Circle Punch & popped up on dimensionals.

Sale-A-Bration 2013 Countdown Week 2: Patterned Occasions Gift Card Holder

How cute is that little elephant! He is certainly my favourite stamp in the Patterned Occasions stamp set on offer during Sale-a-bration 2013.  I use a lot of gift cards and thought this stamp would lend itself quite nicely for this purpose.  The Leadership boards had so many ideas & this card is based on one I saw in a photo of those recently.

Sale-A-Bration 2013 Patterned Occasions Gift Card Holder

The Sycamore Street DSP has a Pool Party swirl pattern that looks just like clouds.  I added a little itty bitty punch flower to the image & a tiny pearl.

Inside the gift card holder

The inside was punched using the word window punch and stamped with the little flower from the Madison Avenue stamp set also available during sale-a-bration.  The "Thanks" sentiment is from the Sale-a-bration stamp set  Vintage Verses.

12 Weeks Of Christmas - LAST WEEK Candlelight Christmas Gift Card Holders

Week 12 - Phew, we made it - Yay!  How fun was that?  The best thing for me is I have all my Christmas cards, all my boxes, bags, gifts made for Christmas day.  Wow, Christmas day is only 3 more sleeps as my kids would say.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for visiting my blog throughout the year & to wish you all a Merry Christmas!

My last post for this series is a gift card holder.   It is based on the design of one I did in this post.  I changed the DSP but the design is exactly the same.  I used Candlelight Christmas DSP on these and also the very cute Mixed Medley Hostess stamp set  & 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch which are all from the Holiday Catalogue which is ending January 31st.  I know I will definitely get a few packs of this DSP to put away for a rainy day ;)  See that ribbon - that is the 7/8" Cotton ribbon stamped with the Border Banter stamp set.  Yes, this is in the Holiday mini also.  I like to fray the edges, however you can see in the 1st photo I have a little No Peeking Reindeer one without the fraying.

Angry Birds Gift Card Holder

Hi Again,
Today I was in need of a 9 year old boy gift card holder....and knowing 9 year old boys like I do I knew it called for a bit of Angry Bird action.

There are so many different Angry birds and choosing one was difficult, so I chose 2!   I made what I call the "black one & the red one".  Please excuse my lack of knowledge of Angry Birds - I have no idea when it comes to these birds what their actual names are.  Perhaps the recipient can enlighten me.

I have used a gift card holder designed by Andrea Walford.  You can see the tutorial HERE
While I have made a few of these Angry Birds in the past, special thanks goes to Leonie who sent me through instructions on how to make these little guys.  You can see her cards featuring them on her blog HERE.  It is safe to say she is a punch art perfectionist!

Goodbye Old Friends

The time has come to say goodbye to a few of my old stamp sets friends.  Many, many products are retiring but I am REALLY sad to see Welcome Christmas going.  It was one of my go to stamp sets for Christmas and is so versatile.    I recently ran a retiring product class and here is what we made.

Welcome Christmas Card & Gift Card Holder

I loved this Christmas Cocoa DSP and have not used it much, so figured it was a good time to finish off that pack.  These cards are based on a Stamping Moments class.  You can view it HERE.  The gift card holder opens when you remove the sleeve, but I forgot to take a photo of the inside- sorry(it isn't very exciting anyhow).  I have punched out a section with a word window punch to hold the gift card.

If you would like to purchase this stamp set it was still available as of this morning. Please contact me ASAP as last orders need to be in by 31st August.  There are only 2 days left to get your hands on the retiring products!  And the good news is Lovely As A Tree now comes in clear mount as of September 1st.

Paper:  Real Red, Whisper White, Soft Suede, Christmas Cocoa DSP.
Ink:  Real Red, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede.
Stamp sets: Welcome Christmas, Lovely As A Tree, Contempo Christmas ( also retiring).
Cool Tools:  Word Window punch, Score Tool, Paper snips, Sticky Strip.

Stampin Up! Christmas Gift Card Holders

I have a lot of family I buy gift cards for and this is the first year I have made gift card holders.  Normally I put them in an envelope and they are very uninteresting.   I saw on a blog somewhere (I cant remember the creator sorry) these great gift card holders made with the Sizzix Top Note Die.  They are very easy to make and are really cute.  These could be adapted to any design not just xmas.  I can just imagine these done for any special occasion.

I have used real red for the top ones and  Christmas Cocoa DSP from last years Christmas promotion.  The bottom two are made with Letters to Santa DSP and Riding hood red.  As you can see there are two topnotes attached with a brad that swivels to reveal the gift card.
Real Red Santa Gift Card Holder

Here is one I have swiveled upwards to reveal the card.  I have added a small box for writing who the card is to and from.

Stamp Set: Jolly Bingo Bits, Contempo Christmas
Paper: Red Red, Riding hood Red Whisper White, Basic Black, Silver Glimmer paper, Christmas Cocoa DSP, Letters To Santa DSP.
Ink: Real Red, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive (leaves)
Embellishments: Silver and Brass brads,
Ribbon: Real Red 5/8" Satin ribbon, Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy & Safe New Year
