Birthday Wishes for CTC 32 - Sneak Peek Week Blog Hop

This week at CASE-ing The Catty we are bringing you a little sneak peak at some new products from the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue 2015-2016 that is going live in just 4 days. Yay, I can't wait!  You may have just come from Helen's blog where she showed us her little sneak peek, now it is time to see mine.

I managed to get myself a few of the new products in the preorder us demonstrators are so privileged to do a whole month before the catalogue goes live for customers.   I have decided to share with you a little sneak peek of a cute birthday stamp hitting our annual catalogue this year.  I believe it has been current in the USA for quite a while but it is new to us here in Australia so I have chosen to use that for my sneak peek card.

I found a great card on page 7 of the new annual catalogue using Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set which I just so happen to have here.  I have cased this card using some of the sneak peek products from preorder as well. Can you pick what is new?

The DSP I used is a great 6 x 6 paper stack called Cherry On Top.  Most of these papers are pretty bright, but I found a few with some subtle colours & patterns on the back.  The card stock is the new In Colour called Watermelon Wonder & the lace is a strip of trimmed down 1" In Colour Dotted Lace Trim.  I used a blender pen to colour on the shimmery white card stock with some ink picked up from the lid of the ink pad.  This was a quick and easy card using 3 new products you will be seeing shortly in our NEW annual catalogue.

Next on our blog hop is Jackie.  I'm sure she has something awesome to show you!

Painted Blooms 50th Birthday Card & A Sneak Peek Version too!

I almost forgot to share this card I made for a friends birthday in April.  Can you believe it was a whole month ago!  I was waiting for the recipient to get her card before I shared it with the whole world, then I completely forgot all about it in the excitement of Convention.   I took a quick photo before I gave it to her, but unfortunately the photo isn't that good.  You will get the idea though.

Here is Leanne's card:

Happy 50th Leanne!

I used Rose Red which isn't a colour I use very much, but it looks lovely with the Painted Blooms DSP & Soft Sky don't you think?

Ok so as I was loading this up onto the blog, I decided I needed to make a "NEW" version of this card.  Whilst at convention we were given a pack of the Bohemian DSP.  I am NOT a fan of purple so this one was my least favourite gifts.  I was stumped as to how I was going to use this paper.  When I got home I preordered the in colours & my least favourite colour was Delightful Dijon.  To me it was far from delightful!  But, after challenging myself to use both this DSP & the non delightful dijon I actually quite like them both now!   I think that YES they are rather strong bold colours, but when used correctly you can get a soft effect.

I am not kidding you this DSP is bright!

My recreated version in Bohemian DSP:

You know I am starting to like this Dijon Colour!  I have made a few more cards using this DSP which I will share soon.    Which version do you prefer?  Old or new?
