12 Weeks Of Christmas:Week 11-Star Wreathes

Like I said in my last post, the stamp club ladies were coming to celebrate our Christmas party & to make their very own version of the star wreath I made.

Here are a few photos of their creations…..

Stamp Club Xmas Party
Another year of stamp clubs over.  I just wanted to say what a lovely group of supportive & gorgeous ladies these are.  I consider them all my good friends & look forward to another great year of stamp club fun!   I will be starting a new Stamp Club in April 2015.  These will run on a Monday & a Thursday night with a maximum of 8 ladies in each group.   I am moving house in March so the new stamp club will be in my new house….yet to be determined, but will be around the Torquay area still.

12 Weeks Of Christmas: Week 11 - Star Wreath

I have spent the day cutting out what feels like hundreds of Star Framelits to make this wreath.  I do like it but it was a labour of love I can tell you.  I decorate for the holidays using silver, white & blue so the All is Calm DSP worked in perfectly for my decor.

My stamp club ladies are coming over tonight for our Christmas party.  We make a big project each year & I get to be the hostess - Yay!  They are making these wreathes in their chosen decor colours.  Most have chosen Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive with the Season Of Style (retired) DSP.  I can't wait to see their creations.  I managed to get the wreathes on sale on the clearance rack a few months ago.  They are the Burlap & Blooms Wreath Kit, which we are changing to suit our Christmas needs.

I will take some photos of the ladies creations & put them on the blog next week.  I am particularly interested to see how Monica's Black & Silver creation turns out.

Bright & Beautiful Lost Lagoon

I just love the simple traditional images in the Bright & Beautiful stamp set. The fact that the Star Framelits match perfectly is a major bonus! I know of lot of you purchased these as a bundle recently during the recent Bigshot promotion & just might be looking for ideas.  I came across a cute card by Carla Blake on Pinterest that I thought would really work for a little set I was creating.  I have changed mine a bit but I love it in Lost Lagoon so have kept that colour base.  I have made my stars a bit more 3d & have also created a little matching star box.

I have used the new Confetti Stars Punch & the new Lucky Stars Textured Embossing Folder on the card & went for a star overload!   This little duo is my class project for September, so if you would like to make them send me an email or call me to book your place.  I have a classes tab up the top of my blog with all the details.

Make It Calm Christmas Tree - CASE-ing the Catty Challenge #7

I love the look of the whole home decor scene on page 20 of the Holiday Catalogue, don't you?

The greens, silvers & blues are so pretty yet calming.  It reminds me of a Scandinavian/natural scene.  I thought I would try and make one of the trees in the scene.  Let me tell you it wasn't as easy as it looked & I wasn't entirely happy with the result.  I don't have those cute snowflakes so I have used the Bright & Beautiful Star bundle. I used the new Tree Punch to punch out lots of Pear Pizzazz trees & then I hot glued them upside down to a styrofoam tree.

What I love is that all the Stampin' Up! catalogues have so many options to copy or get ideas from.  I found a great blog the other day that does just that.  It is called CASE-ing the Catty  & there are so many great ideas there.  This week they are CASE-ing home decor items.  I hope my tree is suitable to enter!

Bright & Beautiful Star Bundle

It is never too early to start Christmas card making, am I right?  Stampin' Up! are offering a great deal at the moment with their Bigshot promotion.  For those of you who are unaware, if you buy a Bigshot in August you can choose from 5 Stamp & Framelit bundles for free! (see my promotions tab up top)   Woohoo - I love a freebie!   If you already own a Bigshot you can order these bundles at 15% off.  That is exactly what I did to get my hands on the gorgeous new Bright & Beautiful Stamp set & matching Star Framelits.

I actually cased this card from the new Holiday Catalogue (p. 25) which will be going live in a weeks time.  Not long to wait to order from it, but you can buy this bundle right now as a special promotion.

To make this card I got out my gold embossing powder & heat gun & embossed onto Vanilla card stock.   Gotta love the Dictionary background stamp for versatility.  I used Gorgeous Grunge for my gold splotches.  Oh & let me tell you…that Cherry Cobbler linen ribbon in the top left has to be the best ribbon SU have ever come up with.  It feels so luxurious & ties beautiful bows.  The Rhinestones were coloured using the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities to give them a nice deep red shine.
